About the album Infinity

The American band from San Francisco with their fourth studio album, Infinity, endeavors three radical changes that will ultimately lead them to another level. The first change was in the position of the singer. Steve Perry takes the place of the singer, a position that until then was held by Gregg Rolie, who is now limited to keyboards and composition. The second change was in the musical style. Journey abandons the "experiments" with progressive rock and turns to rock music or even in some compositions to hard rock. The third change is in the role of the producer with Roy Thomas Baker.

These three changes brought Infinity to No. 21 on Billboard and sales in the U.S. that have now exceeded 3,000,000 copies. Journey thus begins a path with Infinity that will lead them to have their name monopolize the coming years - at least in the U.S. - among the major rock bands. Journey has now started to fill stadiums at their concerts.

The biggest success of the album was Wheel In The Sky. The album also achieved success in Canada and Sweden.
