About the album Stormwatch

With Stormwatch, Jethro Tull completes a trilogy of folk rock albums that began in 1977. In the lyrics of many songs, there is an ecological interest. Stormwatch would become the twelfth studio album for Jethro Tull.

Ian Anderson played bass on most of the album's songs, as bassist John Glascock had been dismissed, following Anderson's demand and encouragement in order to address some serious health issues. Glascock died in November 1979.

Stormwatch went gold in the U.S. due to the 500,000 copies it sold there. In the United Kingdom, it reached No. 27.
