About the album Oxygene

In late 1976, an album unlike any other was released, Oxygène. The French electronic music composer Jean-Michel Jarre makes his debut with the remarkable Oxygène, which features one of the most chilling covers of all time. A warning about the planet's future.

Oxygène is a highly instrumental album that, despite the absence of lyrics, manages to convey the message about the impending ecological destruction of planet Earth. The album was recorded in Jean-Michel Jarre's apartment in Paris, where the composer had gathered the most advanced electronic music equipment available at the time.

The 15,000,000 copies sold worldwide are simply a confirmation of the musical excellence that Oxygène encompasses, an unexpected album, an album that came out of nowhere. This particular musical work is considered the catalyst for the spread of synthesizers in music from then on.
