Tin Drum by Japan
About the album Tin Drum
The fifth and final album of the neo-romantic British band Japan was Tin Drum, released in 1981. The album "has been praised" for its influence on artists such as Robert Smith of The Cure and Roland Orzábal of Tears For Fears.
In fact, Tin Drum is an album of electronic experimental music, which gathers elements of art pop and synth-pop, while there are also several influences from Asian music naturally adapted to the Western pop music standards of that period. Some would describe it as an avant-pop music album.
Tin Drum reached No. 12 on the UK charts and over time its sales reached 100,000 copies, making it gold in the United Kingdom.
