Japan
Group
Japan was a pioneering British band in the new wave and synth-pop music genres, formed in 1974 in London. The band consisted of David Sylvian (vocals, guitar), Richard Barbieri (keyboards), Mick Karn (bass), Steve Jansen (drums), and Rob Dean (guitar). They started their career with influences from glam rock, but quickly developed a unique sound that combined electronic elements and a sophisticated style, characteristic of the 1980s. Their albums, such as "Gentlemen Take Polaroids" and "Tin Drum", are considered classics in their genre. The band dissolved in 1982.
