So by Peter Gabriel
About the album So
In 1986, Peter Gabriel gathered an exceptional group of musicians and artists, and together they created the album that put Gabriel back in the spotlight for a broader and younger audience. Some of the group members included: Tony Levin (bass), Kate Bush (vocals), Stewart Copeland (drums), Manu Katché (drums), Dave Rhodes (guitar), and Daniel Lanois (production).
The truth is that the compositions of the album "So" were less complex than in his previous works, which allowed it to attract the interest of more listeners. Initially, Peter Gabriel had ideas for about thirty songs, then recorded rough versions of twenty, and finally settled on the nine tracks that we hear in the original edition of the album.
Sales reached 7,000,000 copies as MTV continuously aired the innovative for its time music video of "Sledgehammer."
