About the album It's A Beautiful Day

The psychedelic rock band It's A Beautiful Day was formed in San Francisco in 1967 and became part of the local psychedelic scene in the late 1960s. Their self-titled debut was released in July 1969.

This particular album is ranked among the most notable albums of the West Coast psychedelic scene in the United States. The legend of the album begins with its old-fashioned cover, which is based on a painting by Kent Hollister from 1912, titled "Woman on the Top of a Mountain." The album's great success was the song "White Bird." Key figures on the album and in the band were David Gordon LaFlamme and Linda LaFlamme.

Over time, It's A Beautiful Day managed to sell nearly half a million copies worldwide.
