About the album The Final Frontier
Iron Maiden recorded and released the album The Final Frontier in 2010, which is the fifteenth in their career. This particular album has the longest duration of all the band's single albums. Its duration exceeds 76 minutes (!) and it was recorded at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas. Iron Maiden have now transformed into a purely progressive metal band. The Final Frontier marks the end of the band's collaboration with EMI Records after forty-plus years.
Kevin Shirley is once again in the production of the album, an album that begins with Satellite 15... The Final Frontier. The only single from the album was El Dorado, which was also offered as a free download track for promotional purposes of the album. The global promotion tour for The Final Frontier started from Dallas, USA, in June 2010 and concluded in August 2011 with two concerts at the O2 Arena in London.
The Final Frontier has sold over 1,100,000 copies in the global market. The album reached No. 1 in the United Kingdom and No. 4 in the United States of America.
