About the album The Book Of Souls
The Book Of Souls from 2015 is Iron Maiden's sixteenth studio album and their first double studio album in their long career. This album comes five years after The Final Frontier. It is another characteristic progressive metal record by Iron Maiden in the style they have adopted from 2000 onwards.
For the recording of The Book Of Souls, Iron Maiden worked at Guillaume Tell Studios in Paris from September to December 2014. They had recorded the album of their reunion and return of the classic lineup, Brave New World, at the same studio. The album features the song Empire Of The Clouds, which is the longest song the band has ever written and recorded in their entire career, reaching 18 minutes. It is a composition by Bruce Dickinson.
The album was particularly loved and managed to reach the Top-10 in many countries. In the United Kingdom, it reached No.1. The producer of the album was Kevin Shirley, with whom the band had been collaborating since 2000.
