About the album Grinderman
The Grinderman project and their first album were Nick Cave's personal ambition and attempt to sound once again like the Birthday Party or like himself in the 1980s. Wild and rough. The lyrics belong to Nick Cave.
The Grinderman project opened for the White Stripes concert at Madison Square Garden on July 24, 2007, due to the album achieving some success in the USA.
The real success came in Greece, where it reached No. 1 and managed to go gold. Indicatively, in Australia, it went up to No. 14 on the charts in Nick Cave's home country (!)
