About the album You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 6
You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore, Vol. 6 is the final part of Frank Zappa's monumental series of live recordings, released on July 10, 1992. The recordings cover the period from 1970 to 1988, offering an overall picture of the evolution of his bands. Like the rest of the series, the album contains no overdubs (additional studio recordings), maintaining the authenticity of the live performance.
The first CD focuses almost exclusively on songs with sexual content and humor. The second CD includes material from his legendary performances at New York's Palladium (1976-1981) and pieces that often closed his concerts, such as Strictly Genteel.
Highlights: Includes the track Thirteen featuring violinist L. Shankar. In Is That Guy Kidding or What?, Zappa satirizes Peter Frampton's album I'm in You. It features rare performances such as Lisa's Life Story with soprano Lisa Popeil.
