About the album Mystery To Me

The eighth album of Fleetwood Mac, Mystery To Me, will complete an era for the band. It will be the last album featuring Bob Welch on vocals and with the band, and it will also be the last album where the band collaborates with Martin Birch, who served as a producer along with the other members of the group.

The album's title comes from a phrase found in the opening song of the album, Emerald Eyes. Musically, the album is a mix of rock and soft rock and certainly foreshadows the musical shift the band will take in the coming years. Most of the songs on the album are compositions by Bob Welch and Christine McVie. Among the twelve songs on the album, there is also a cover of For Your Love by the Yardbirds. At the time of its release, the album had relative success in the USA, but that was about it.

Mystery To Me started its journey on the Billboard from position No. 156 and by the end of 1973, it had reached No. 67. It eventually spent 26 weeks in the Top 200, and its total sales are estimated at around 500,000.
