About the album Fine Young Cannibals

The British musical trio was formed in 1984 in Birmingham, and the following year they released their debut album, which was titled after the name of the band. Fine Young Cannibals is an album that indeed falls within the framework of British pop music of that period, but it has so many R&B and soul elements that the album acquires a unique interest.

The song that opens the album is Johnny Come Home, whose release had preceded the album's release by half a year and had paved the way in Britain for Fine Young Cannibals to go gold shortly after its release. The single Blue followed, which did not manage to achieve much. The big success came with the cover of Elvis Presley's hit song, Suspicious Minds.

The album reached No.11 in the United Kingdom, No.49 on the Billboard chart, while it also achieved significant success in Canada with the 100,000 copies sold there.
