About the album Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars

Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars is the debut album of Edie Brickell & New Bohemians from Dallas, Texas. It was released on August 9, 1988, by Geffen Records. The sound of the album is considered characteristic of the "college rock" scene of the late '80s and moves between alternative rock, folk rock, and jangle pop.

Edie Brickell wrote most of the material, often in collaboration with the band's guitarist, Kenny Withrow. The album's producer was Pat Moran. The biggest hit from the album was What I Am, which reached No.7 on Billboard. Another standout song from the album was Little Miss S.

Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars reached No.4 on Billboard and has become double platinum in the USA. In the United Kingdom, it reached No.25.
