Edie Brickell & New Bohemians is an American alternative rock band that was formed in 1985 in Dallas, Texas. The band became particularly famous with the 1988 album "Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars," which featured the hit "What I Am." Edie Brickell's voice, along with the band's unique sound and rich orchestrations, made them popular at the time, combining folk, rock, and jazz elements. Despite the fact that their success was initially short-lived, the band continues to record and tour intermittently.
