About the album Wasa Wasa
The Edgar Broughton Band was formed in 1968 in Warwick, England, and the following year, specifically in July 1969, they released their debut album titled Wasa Wasa from Harvest Records. The original title of the album was Harvest SHVL 757.
Wasa Wasa was primarily a psychedelic rock album with extensions and references to the acid rock and blues rock scene, while we also find some traces of hard rock. Arthur Grant, Robert Edgar Broughton, and Steve Broughton recorded Wasa Wasa at Abbey Road Studios with Peter Jenner producing their first album. Jenner was a member of Blackhill Enterprises along with the four original members of Pink Floyd. Blackhill Enterprises was an organization aimed at promoting psychedelia in London. The main composer of the band was Robert Edgar Broughton, who also sings and plays guitar. The only single released from the album was Evil, while the album closes with the 14-minute (!) Dawn Crept Away.
Wasa Wasa remains an excellent example of English psychedelia in the late 1960s.
