Desperado by Eagles
About the album Desperado
Desperado is the second album by the Eagles. It was recorded in February 1973 and released in April of the same year. Here, the Eagles present a country/folk rock album similar in musical style to their debut. Glyn Johns is in charge of the album's production.
The album consists of eleven songs. Ten of them are compositions by the band's members, and one, Outlaw Man, is a song by David Blue, which was also the second single from the album. In Desperado, there is a small trilogy made up of the following three compositions: Doolin-Dalton, Doolin-Dalton (Reprise), and Doolin-Dalton/Desperado (Reprise). These three compositions are the result of the collaboration between Don Henley, Glenn Frey, JD Souther, and Jackson Browne. The artist Gary Burden based the album cover theme on the song Outlaw Man and the Wild West. That's why we see the four members of the Eagles dressed as if they've stepped out of a western movie (!)
Desperado reached No. 41 on the Billboard chart and No. 39 in the United Kingdom. The album's sales in the U.S. have now exceeded 2,000,000 copies.
