About the album Free Peace Sweet
Having tasted success with their second album and in the midst of performances to support it, Dodgy will record their third album at Wessex Sound Studios in London, to be titled Free Peace Sweet. The new album will be released in June 1996 and will also achieve success, at least in Great Britain.
Free Peace Sweet is an album which musically belongs to the alternative rock genre, but the elements of britpop, which at that time was experiencing universal acceptance, are almost everywhere dominant in every composition. The big success of the album as a single is Good Enough, which will also become the band's signature song. The album was produced by Hugh Jones.
The album will enter the UK's Top-10, reaching No.7 and shortly thereafter will become platinum in Britain, selling over 300,000 copies. With Free Peace Sweet, Dodgy reached the pinnacle of their musical career, as from then on there wasn't a similar response from the public to any of the band's subsequent albums.
