The Buddha Of Suburbia by David Bowie
About the album The Buddha Of Suburbia
The Buddha of Suburbia is the nineteenth album by David Bowie and was completed in six days. Bowie initially agreed to write the music for the film of the same name, which was based on the book by British-Pakistani Hanif Kureishi. Eventually, David Bowie decided to evolve the whole effort into another of his studio albums. Thus, in 1993, The Buddha of Suburbia became the second album released within the same year.
In this particular album, Bowie mixes elements of jazz, ambient, rock, and whatever else he believes fits. The album was mainly recorded at Mountain Studios in Switzerland. In the production of The Buddha of Suburbia, we find David Bowie and David Richards.
It is certainly not the best sample of David Bowie's work, something that becomes obvious from the fact that he himself made no effort to promote it. The No. 87 on the UK chart attests to the album's failure.
