Never Let Me Down by David Bowie
About the album Never Let Me Down
David Bowie returns to the music scene with his seventeenth album in 1987. The title of the album is Never Let Me Down. The sound of the album is fresh, and as the creator of the record himself has stated, there is an attempt to convey the aesthetics of the '80s while also incorporating the atmosphere of the previous decade. In this manner, a remarkable pop-rock album is created, which seems to respect itself.
David Bowie spent a large part of the year 1986 at his home in Switzerland, where he began preparing the material that would become Never Let Me Down. The album was completed at Power Station studios in New York, with Bob Clearmountain handling the mixing of the songs. Carlos Alomar is once again at Bowie's side on guitars for this album.
The album did not receive the best reviews. However, its sales led it to become gold in Great Britain, the USA, and France, while in Canada it went platinum. It is estimated that 2,600,000 copies of the record have been sold.
