About the album Curiosity Killed The Cat
The London-based group Curiosity Killed The Cat presented their debut album titled Keep Your Distance in 1987, offering a very interesting proposition for that year in British pop music, particularly in the sophisti-pop genre, which was one of the dominant trends in pop music in the UK at that time.
The album is filled with pop songs enriched with soulful brass, rhythmic parts, and backing vocals that transform the album's nine songs into very pleasant listens. Most of Keep Your Distance was produced by American Stewart Levine. The standout single was Misfit, which had been released in 1986 without much success, but its re-release in 1987 brought it to No. 7 on the UK charts, propelling the entire album to reach No. 1 in the UK and achieve 300,000 sales.
Keep Your Distance was the only album by the British group that managed to achieve some success in the USA, reaching No. 55 on the Billboard chart.
