About the album Mirage
Mirage was released in March 1974 and became the second studio album by the British band Camel. The recording of the album took place in November 1973 at three different studios in London. The Camel band presents one of the most popular progressive rock acts of the '70s. Camel was fortunate to have Dave Hitchcock, a producer with extensive experience in the progressive sound, producing their album.
The album consists of five compositions. Peter Bardens and Andrew Latimer bear the main responsibility for the composition of the tracks. The album opens with Freefall, a composition by Bardens. There are two instrumental music themes, Supertwister and Earthrise, while the suites of the album, one nine minutes long (The White Rider) and the other twelve minutes long (Lady Fantasy), are those that attract the most interest.
Mirage did not have any commercial appeal at the time of its release, but from time to time it features in lists of the best albums of all time.
