About the album Multi_Viral

The Puerto Rican band Calle 13, with the main protagonist René Pérez Joglar or simply Residente, released their fifth and final album titled Multi_Viral in 2014, reaching the peak of their career, which had begun ten years earlier. The album was recorded at Música Satánica Studios in San Juan.

Among the fifteen songs on the album, the title track stands out as it features a message from Julian Assange, as well as Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine with his guitar. Multi_Viral was the first single from the album, followed by El Aguante.

Multi_Viral is an album with which its creators aimed to open new pathways for how artists' music will be transmitted in the future. Thus, the album's supporting tour started in Buenos Aires, where those who attended the concert received a free download of the album Multi_Viral. This was based on the idea that the album and its songs would reach everywhere via the internet. The album was successful in countries such as Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, and others.
