About the album Hot Rail
Calexico from the state of Arizona create and present their third album in 2000, titled Hot Rail. Although its sound moves in the indie rock world, the musical influences from neighboring Mexico are more than evident, and it's no coincidence that the album will be classified in the musical subgenre known as tex-mex.
The success of the album was definitely the song Ballad Of Cable Hogue. Marianne Dissard is the singer whose voice is heard singing the French lyrics. Joey Burns and John Convertino are behind the composition of the songs as well as the production of Hot Rail.
Its performance as an album on the charts was moderate. In the United Kingdom, it reached No. 57.
