Children Of The World by Bee Gees
About the album Children Of The World
The 1976 album Children Of The World is the landmark record that established the Bee Gees as the ultimate rulers of the disco and R&B scene, just before the global phenomenon of Saturday Night Fever. It was the fourteenth album of the Bee Gees. All the tracks of the album were written by Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The performance is characterized by the extensive use of falsetto by Barry Gibb, which became their trademark.
Due to legal obstacles with their previous producer, Arif Mardin, the Gibb brothers took matters into their own hands. Children Of The World was mainly recorded at the legendary Criteria Studios in Miami and at Le Studio in Quebec, Canada. The production was signed by the Bee Gees themselves in collaboration with Albhy Galuten and Karl Richardson, creating a team that would define the sound of pop for the years to come. Here one can listen to the legendary You Should Be Dancing, the ultimate disco anthem that conquered the top of the charts.
The album achieved enormous commercial success, reaching No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and selling over 2,500,000 copies worldwide.
