About the album Death Walks Behind You

The British band Atomic Rooster released their second studio album titled "Death Walks Beside You" in September 1970, which was recorded in August of the same year. The band itself produced the record.

"Death Walks Beside You" is the most commercially successful album by Atomic Rooster, and it is also a unique album in its sound since its creators, building on the progressive rock sound that was dominant during that period in Great Britain, incorporate many hard rock elements to the extent that some classify the record in the genre later called proto-metal. The single that emerged and became a hit in their homeland was "Tomorrow Night," which gave significant momentum to the entire album.

The album reached No. 12 in the United Kingdom, No. 40 in Germany, No. 13 in Australia, and No. 90 in the United States of America. Beyond whatever success or lack thereof of the album, "Death Walks Beside You" became a musical legacy for the British and not only hard rock scene of the immediately following years.
