The Blackbyrds

The Blackbyrds were an American jazz and funk band formed in 1973 by the legendary trumpeter and jazz professor Donald Byrd. The band, which was primarily composed of students from Howard University in Washington, combined elements of jazz, funk, R&B, and soul to create their distinctive sound. They are known for hits such as "Walking in Rhythm," "Happy Music," and "Rock Creek Park."
