Television was an influential rock band from New York, formed in 1973 and considered a pioneer of punk and new wave music. The band initially consisted of singer and guitarist Tom Verlaine, guitarist Richard Lloyd, bassist Richard Hell (who was later replaced by Fred Smith), and drummer Billy Ficca. Their debut album, "Marquee Moon" (1977), has been recognized as one of the most important albums in the history of rock music. Television stood out for their impressive guitar compositions and innovative sound, influencing many future generations of artists. Although their initial career was brief, with only two albums before their breakup in 1978, they occasionally reunited for concerts and new releases.
