Bauhaus

Bauhaus

Group
Bauhaus was a British band formed in 1978 in Northampton. They are considered pioneers of the gothic rock music scene, combining elements of post-punk and avant-garde art. Their original name was Bauhaus 1919, influenced by the German art school, but they soon shortened it to Bauhaus. The band consisted of Peter Murphy (vocals), Daniel Ash (guitar), Kevin Haskins (drums), and David J (bass). They became known with the track "Bela Lugosi's Dead" and continued to release successful albums like "In the Flat Field" and "Mask" before disbanding in 1983. During their brief career, Bauhaus left an indelible mark on the musical landscape with their dark, aesthetic, and innovative approach.
