About the album Love Explosion
Love Explosion was the fourth solo album for Tina Turner and was released in 1979. The remarkable thing was that the album was not released in the United States market, but only in European countries. The album was primarily recorded at Trident Studios in London.
The album was of course considered a failure, as it had no presence on the Billboard charts, and it resulted in Tina Turner being without a contract. The producer who took on the album was Alec R. Costandinos, who at the time was one of the famous producers in French disco. The musical compositions of Love Explosion range from disco to funk, while also including soul ballads.
After the failure of Love Explosion, there would be a five-year hiatus from the discography for Tina Turner before her huge comeback in the mid-'80s with Private Dancer.
