About the album Nightshift
The Commodores, right in the heart of the eighties, release the eleventh album of their long career, titled Nightshift. Their sound is now fully aligned with the era (synthesizers) and no longer resembles the previous decade.
It is the second album without Lionel Richie, who at that time is following a rapidly advancing personal career.
Nevertheless, the album is not considered a failure - rather their last success - as it reached No.3 on the Billboard, Nightshift became their most successful single after Richie's departure, and sold 500,000 copies in the U.S.
