About the album Back Stabbers

The O’Jays outfit from Philadelphia sees their career soar with their 1972 album Back Stabbers, which would become their sixth studio work.

It is considered, and indeed is, a top album of soul music, which advanced the sound of Philadelphia Soul to a higher level. Its two singles – Back Stabbers and Love Train – became some of their most recognizable songs with a timeless journey.

It reached No. 10 on the Billboard. In just its first year of release, it sold 500,000 copies in the U.S.
