About the album Everything You've Come To Expect
The 2016 album Everything You've Come To Expect is the second studio album by the British supergroup The Last Shadow Puppets, which consists of Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) and Miles Kane. The album was recorded in the summer of 2015 at Rick Rubin's Shangri La Studios in Malibu, California. It was produced by James Ford, who also played drums. Owen Pallett handled the string arrangements, giving the songs their characteristic cinematic sound.
The musical style of Everything You've Come To Expect moves in the realm of baroque pop and psychedelic pop, with strong elements of soul and cinematic music from the '60s and '70s. It is considered more "open" and sonically expansive compared to their debut. Bad Habits and Aviation were the two singles from the album. The album cover features a photo of Tina Turner dancing, taken by Jack Robinson in 1969 (!)
The album debuted at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, marking the seventh consecutive No. 1 album for Alex Turner. The album's sales have exceeded 100,000 copies in Great Britain.
