Brother, Brother, Brother by The Isley Brothers
About the album Brother, Brother, Brother
The Isley Brothers, with the release of Brother, Brother, Brother in 1972, completed their collaboration with Buddah Records. This particular album is the tenth album of their career. The Isley Brothers present nine R&B compositions in their own unique way.
Half of the compositions belong to the Isley Brothers, while the rest are either covers or compositions by others - mainly by Carole King. In fact, the second side begins with a ten-minute cover of King's It's Too Late. The big hit of the album was the funky Pop That Thang, which entered the Top 40 of the Billboard. The production of the album belongs to the members of the Isley Brothers themselves.
Brother, Brother, Brother reached No. 29 on the Billboard. It was the album that - in hindsight - prepared soul and R&B music fans for the triumph that would come in the U.S. with the next album and would last until the late 1970s.
