About the album Street Life
The Crusaders were a group from Texas that began their journey in 1960. In reality, they were a jazz and R&B band with Joe Sample at the helm, adapting the band according to each era. Thus, in 1979, they released the album Street Life, which includes the title track in disco rhythms.
The song Street Life became a very big hit at that time in the U.S.A. and Europe. We enjoy Randy Crawford on vocals, while it is a composition by Joe Sample and Will Jennings. Beyond this song, the rest of the album's compositions are instrumental rhythmic smooth jazz pieces, which have no connection with disco or at least with the dominant trend of disco.
The album reached No. 36 in the U.S.A., as well as No. 6 in Norway and No. 8 in Sweden.
