About the album Level Headed

Level Headed is the sixth studio album by the British band Sweet, which was released in January 1978. It is considered one of the most important and experimental milestones in their career, as it marks the departure from their classic glam rock style towards a more refined, art rock and prog sound. It was the last album with the full original lineup, as singer Brian Connolly left about a year after its release.

The recordings took place in 1977 at the Château d'Hérouville in France and at Kingsway Recorders in London, with the production being handled by the band itself. The album combines elements of art rock, neo-prog, and pop rock. Sweet experimented with orchestral parts, classical influences, and more complex structures, reminiscent of bands like 10cc and Supertramp.

It includes the worldwide hit Love Is Like Oxygen, which reached the Top 10 in the US and the UK and was the group's last major hit. The album version is significantly longer in duration (almost 7 minutes) than the single version.
