Sweet

The Sweet are one of the most iconic British bands of the glam rock scene that thrived in the 1970s. They were formed in London in 1968, initially under the name The Sweetshop. The most well-known lineup included: Brian Connolly: vocals (passed away in 1997), Andy Scott: guitar, keyboards, Steve Priest: bass (passed away in 2020), and Mick Tucker: drums (passed away in 2002). The band started with a "bubblegum pop" sound, collaborating with songwriters Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, but quickly evolved into a harder, hard rock sound. The song The Ballroom Blitz (1973) is perhaps their greatest worldwide success. Despite Scott's recent health adventures in 2024, the band continues their performances.
