About the album Kerosene Man
Californian songwriter and performer Steve Wynn of Dream Syndicate, after the breakup of the band, makes his first solo recording effort. Kerosene Man is the title of his debut in 1990. The album was produced by Joe Chiccarelli.
Kerosene Man is a very beautifully crafted production and certainly helped Steve Wynn feel confident about himself and his abilities after almost a decade with his former band, which no longer existed. The album is reminiscent of the works of Dream Syndicate in many ways, but there is a more relaxed and pop atmosphere. The eleven songs on the album were selected from about forty that the creator had prepared.
The album managed to reach 70,000 sales in the USA, while most reviews in music publications of the time ranged from excellent to raving.
