About the album Men And Women
The English band Simply Red returned to the music scene in 1987 with their second album, Men And Women. The album's sound moves between soul and funk.
Five singles emerged from the album, thus cementing their place in British pop in the latter half of the '80s. Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye (the fourth single) was a cover of a song by Cole Porter from the distant 1944.
The producer of Men And Women was Alex Sadkin, who died in a motorcycle accident a few months after the album's release. The album went triple platinum in the United Kingdom and reached No. 2 on the country's charts.
