About the album Treasure

The Scottish band Cocteau Twins released Treasure in 1984, their third studio album, and with this album, they established the sound that characterized them in their subsequent albums, the sound of ethereal wave. Essentially, it is a version of gothic music with many pop elements. Some others categorize the album in the dream pop scene, and they are not wrong.

The music composed by the Cocteau Twins, combined with Elizabeth Fraser's vocals, creates an otherworldly atmosphere. The album was recorded in August and September of 1984. The fact that this particular album managed to reach No.29 on the UK charts is a small musical miracle. All the songs have a name as their title.

The compositions and production of the album belong to the trio of Cocteau Twins, namely Robin Guthrie, Elizabeth Fraser, and bassist and producer Simon Raymonde.
