Stronger Than Pride  by Sade

Sade's third album was released in May 1988 and was yet another commercial success for this very unique band. Sade Adu has stated that for this album she wanted the production to achieve a result that focused on highlighting the voice and interpretation of the songs. The producers of Stronger Than Pride were the band members themselves.

Five singles emerged from the album. Songs like Paradise and Nothing Can Come Between Us were among the most distinctive on the record. The compositions for Stronger Than Pride were written in England and Spain, while they were recorded in studios in the Bahamas and France. All the lyrics are by Sade Adu, except for the instrumental piece that closes the album, Siempre Hay Esperanza.

The album's success was very significant in many countries. Stronger Than Pride reached No. 7 on the Billboard, No. 3 in the United Kingdom, and No. 1 in the Netherlands and Italy. Worldwide sales of the album approached 4,500,000 copies globally.
