A Kind Of Magic by Queen
About the album A Kind Of Magic
Queen made their discographic appearance with the twelfth album of their career in 1986, one year after their triumphant presence at Live Aid. A Kind Of Magic is a clear turn towards pop. Brian May's guitars have been limited to the minimum and the most essential.
The songs of the album were unofficially heard in the movie Highlander without being the soundtrack of the movie. The music is highly adapted to the pop/rock trends of the mid-1980s. What saves the record is the excellent performance of Freddie Mercury. The tour to promote the album would also be the last for Freddie Mercury since a year later the symptoms of AIDS made their appearance.
The album reached the top of the charts in the United Kingdom, while in the U.S. it did not go beyond No.46.
