About the album Evil Heat
Evil Heat, the seventh studio album by the Scottish band Primal Scream, is not just a record, but a hallucinogenic "urban delirium" that perfectly captured the edgy side of Primal Scream. After the sonic terror of XTRMNTR, Bobby Gillespie and his crew returned with an album that feels like a nighttime stroll through a dangerous, neon metropolis. It was released in the UK on August 5, 2002, by Columbia Records and in the US on November 26, 2002, by Epic Records.
At the helm of production was the "architect of noise" Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine), who dressed the tracks with layers of distorted guitar. Kate Moss lends her cool, enchanting voice to the cover of Some Velvet Morning, Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin takes his harmonica out of the case for The Lord Is My Shotgun, while Jim Reid (The Jesus and Mary Chain) adds his own dose of "poison" to Detroit, and the iconic Andrew Weatherall gave his electronic touch to the dreamy Autobahn 66.
Evil Heat reached No. 9 on the UK charts.
