Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
About the album Ghosteen
Nick Cave spends part of 2018 and 2019 recording and creating the seventeenth album of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds in the USA, Great Britain, and Germany. A key collaborator in this effort is Warren Ellis, who co-composes and produces Ghosteen.
Ghosteen is a double album, predominantly featuring music in the ambient sound. The first record, consisting of eight compositions, is called The Children, while the second part is called The Parents and contains only three songs, among which is the twelve-minute Ghosteen, one of the longest songs officially recorded by the band.
The album cover is an idea of Nick Cave and the people from Hingston Studio. It is based on a painting by Tom duBois titled "The Breath of Life" from 2001, depicting a part of the Garden of Eden.
