¿Dónde Jugarán Las Niñas? by Molotov
About the album ¿Dónde Jugarán Las Niñas?
With clear references to the musical style of Rage Against The Machine and Cypress Hill, the Mexicans Molotov in early 1997 present their debut titled ¿Dónde Jugarán Las Niñas? and draw attention to themselves with songs like Voto Latino, Puto, or of course Gimme Tha Power, which would accompany many protests of the citizens of Mexico City during that period due to the prevailing corruption in Mexico.
The characteristic of ¿Dónde Jugarán Las Niñas? is that Molotov masterfully integrates both the Spanish and English languages into their songs, so much so that a bilingual person wouldn't even notice the language switch (!)
¿Dónde Jugarán Las Niñas? is one of the best albums of the Mexican rock scene, an album where various musical styles meet and create what is now a legendary record. For the record, the title of the album is derived from the title of another album by the also Mexican band Maná: ¿Dónde Jugarán Los Niños?, a title which was a direct translation of Cat Stevens' 1970 song Where Do The Children Play (!)
