About the album The Battle Οf Los Angeles

The 1990s are coming to an end, and Rage Against The Machine released their third album in November 1999, shaking everything up. The Battle Of Los Angeles features the energy and passion of their previous two albums. This album is also the last one they recorded, as the next will be released after the band's breakup and will contain only covers.

The cover is a photograph of a graffiti piece by the well-known artist Joey Krebs from Los Angeles. The song lyrics also address a variety of social and political issues. The album's production was done by Brendan O'Brien, who collaborated with the band for the second consecutive time.

The Battle Of Los Angeles sold 420,000 copies in its first week of release in the United States (!) and reached No. 1 in the U.S., leaving Mariah Carey and her album Rainbow at No. 2 (!) The album's sales have exceeded 2,500,000 copies worldwide.
