About the album Devil Without A Cause
It seems that with his fourth album, Devil Without A Case, Kid Rock takes his revenge as his first three albums received derogatory and mocking reviews. Devil Without A Case will reach No. 4 on the Billboard and sell 11,000,000 copies in the U.S.
The particular album sparked discussions among music critics as they couldn't easily classify it, and the truth is that here one can listen to everything from rap rock and nu metal to country and hard rock. Six of the album's fourteen tracks were released as singles. Standouts were I Am the Bullgod, Bawitdaba, Cowboy, and Only God Knows Why, which pushed the entire album to great heights.
It's worth noting that Kid Rock is involved in the songwriting in collaboration - of course - with several others, but he plays electric and acoustic guitar, banjo, synthesizers, and bass, while naturally performing the songs as well. Eminem (!), just before becoming what he would become in the following years, lends his voice to the song Fuck Off.
