About the album Buena Suerte

Buena Suerte from 1991 is the debut album of Los Rodríguez, a legendary Spanish-Argentine band that bridged rock with traditional Spanish-speaking genres. The album was released in 1991 by the independent label Pasión. Although it initially did not achieve commercial success in Spain—due to the record company's bankruptcy—it became a huge success in Argentina. Its popularity skyrocketed mainly thanks to the cover of the song Mi Enfermedad by Fabiana Cantilo.

The band was formed in Madrid when Ariel Rot and Julián Infante (former members of Tequila) joined Argentine Andrés Calamaro. The album was recorded at a time when the band was playing in small clubs in Madrid, trying to combine rock with Spanish and Latin elements. The recording took place in February 1991 at Trak and Cinearte studios in Madrid. The production was done by the band itself (Los Rodríguez), with the participation of Daniel Melingo in some tracks.

Buena Suerte is considered a cornerstone for the Rock en Español of the 90s. Although their great commercial success came with their next album (Sin Documentos), their debut established their sound: a mix of Pop Rock and Roots Rock with a strong personality of Calamaro.
