It's Not Me, It's You by Lily Allen
About the album It's Not Me, It's You
In 2009, British artist Lily Allen returned with her second studio album titled It's Not Me, It's You. Most of the album's compositions are the work of herself and Greg Kurstin, who also produced the album. The music of the songs exudes joy, accompanied by satirical and playful lyrics that make it one of the most interesting and beautiful pop albums of the first decade of the 21st century. The musical style of the album is more complex as it contains elements of electropop, something that wasn’t present in her debut.
The first single from the album was The Fear, which became Allen's second No.1 in her home country, remaining in that position for four weeks. Four more singles followed. The fifth single was Who'd Have Known, which was accompanied by a music video featuring Lily Allen as a fanatic Elton John fan who relentlessly chases him.
Beyond Britain, It's Not Me, It's You became a commercial success across the globe. Characteristic of the album's success is the No.5 spot on the Billboard chart, as well as No.1 in Australia and Canada. Its sales have exceeded 1,400,000 copies.
