About the album Ingénue

k.d. lang returns in 1992 with her second album, titled Ingénue. In this second album, the Canadian singer-songwriter presents a more pop sound and differentiates herself from the country character of her debut three years prior.

Most of the compositions on the album are hers and Ben Mink's. These two and Greg Penny collaborate for the production of the album. The first single of Ingénue was the song Constant Craving, which became a major hit for the year of its release and beyond. Two more songs followed as singles, Miss Chatelaine and The Mind Of Love. Some critics have noted that Ingénue offers its listener a sense of a bygone cabaret era.

The chart performances of Ingénue at the time of its release were recorded as follows: No.13 in Canada, No.3 in the United Kingdom, and No.18 in the United States, where album sales reached 2,000,000 copies.
